When I asked her what I did to deserve them she said "Nothing. I just saw them at the farmer's market and thought of you. Put them somewhere in your house so that when you turn the corner and see them you say, 'Hey, I have flowers!'." How cool a friend is that?
I adore this colorway and think I'm going to use it for my website overhaul, which is currently underway. I told Chuck, the mastermind behind the new site, the I was looking for a "Mexico City color palette". He suggested he ought to fly there for a couple weeks to do a color study. Maybe I'll just send him a picture of these flowers instead.
I received my Eau Claire necklace back from Beadwork this week. (Yes, you Sconies, it is named after the city!) This one is my fifth Designer of the Year piece and appears in their October/November issue. It's rare that pieces look as good in photos as they do in person, but they did a great job with this one. Here's a sneak peek:

You regular readers will know that I've been working like a fiend. Yesterday I went into daze mode. I couldn't remove one more comma or draw one more rough illustration. It was like I was Imperiused by some economic stimulus genie as I got up with my purse and keys and left the house. I spent a good long time at Target looking for a new 'uniform'. My current uniform (jeans, long-sleeved t-shirt, hoodie) has been in service for over 8 years now and is really beyond raggedy, so it was definitely time. I decided on gray and black thermal henleys, gray and white wrap sweaters, and super comfy cotton jammie pants in gray and black. Won't that be a great uniform for sitting in front of the computer for hours on end? And even though they're technically jammies, the sweaters spruce it up so no one will know. Throw on a necklace on and some snazzy boots and I'm good to meet with a client, don't you think? When I got home I tossed the old stuff (removing buttons and zippers for a rainy day, of course--my Depression-era mom taught me well!) and washed up and installed the new into my closet. Can't tell you how good this feels! So now if you drop by to see me in the next 10 years, you know what I'll be wearing.
Not sure why I just went on about all that, but I do know why I'm going to let you in on what my beadblogging buddies were up to this week: they are absolute dynamos!

I did love your necklace from the recent issue, so creative and the colors were perfect. (By the way, if you go to Mexico City, reserve me a plane ticket!)
great site, keep it up the good work.
The writer is totally right, and there is no skepticism.
