Lilium

I'm really excited to introduce my latest design, Lilium!

This one was specifically designed for Beads by the Bay, a retreat March 12-14 in San Francisco with Marcia DeCoster, Maggie Meister, and Moi. (Will get you info on how to sign up very soon!)

The design incorporates that "catcher's mitt" petal shape I blogged about in June. I took several of your suggestions to heart and came up with this wrist corsage, but it could also be done as a necklace or brooch.

What do you think? I'm personally excited about the color, but I'll need to put together a couple of other colorways for the class...any suggestions or requests?

Wow, this is stunning. How about a yellow/orange colorway? Also, I can see it as a beautiful hair adornment for a bride, maybe make it in white/ivory/cream and attach it to a hair clip? Just a thought. Beautiful piece.

Gorgeous!

As for colors, I love the colors you have chosen.

For additional colors, I would suggest shades of blue. Blue is a staple in my color library. I think everyone likes blue.

Or maybe bright opaque colors like yellow and red? Wouldn't that look fresh with a bright summer sun dress or Hawaiian shirt? I love bright jewelry, but I have to admit I never make it. Maybe it is past time I branched out a bit.

Or for a subdued look, cream mixed with a burnished gold/bronze? The leaves could be a dark iris green.

When I make a piece I think I spend more time choosing the colors than I do making the piece.

The bracelet is absolutely stunning.

This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the combo of purple and green. The tones in the purple really make it pop.

How about a white/yellow combo or pink/white/cream, similar to a Lady Slipper flower?

Thanks for sharing this with us!

Wonderful work Jean! Raspberry Red is likely my favourite color so what you've chosen is fabulous. To appeal to those that like warmer tones, maybe coral or a peachy version would be a good idea but for me ... I love this one.

Jean, Re: Litium bracelet. I love love love it. You are such an amazing designer. As for another color palette for it, see that peyote circle to the left of the picture? How about those red, orange, yellow, gold blend for fall? I think it would be vibrantly beautiful. Congrats and I am so jealous of you going to San Fran...I love that place. I really did leave my heart there. Patricia
