Brenda Schweder encouraged me to try my hand at using steel wire in a piece, so I did. What do you think? For this necklace, which I call One Small Favour (that came up when I Googled steel+key+ring) I used one of Melanie Brooks' new keyhole pendants for the focal, a Tim Holtz game piece and a fine silver spacer for the dangle, but otherwise it's all raw and galvanized steel. The stuff is wicked on your hands, and you definitely shouldn't use your good tools for working with it, but the resulting piece is actually quite wearable and as my neighbor said, it will last much longer than I will!

Can I ask, where did you find the steel wire to purchase?
Home Depot! It's in the back by the rebar...
That's a great piece, my wrista are aching in sympathy! I love the pendant.
Why thank you, Sarah!
I think it's great! :)
Hurray! Thanks, Sara!
That's a gorgeous chain you've created! I love the patina! On my favorite website, Stones and Findings.com, is a natural way to patina silver! This article,http://www.stonesandfindings.com/jewelry-making-articles/articles/creating-your-own-patina, shows you how to patina silver at home using accessible things such as a boiled egg! Check it out!
